The iconic masterpiece "Napoleon Crossing the Alps," alternatively known as "Napoleon at the St. Bernard Pass" or "Bonaparte Crossing the Alps," comprises five magnificent oil-on-canvas equestrian portraits crafted by the renowned French artist Jacques-Louis David during the years 1801 to 1805. Originally commissioned by the King of Spain, this series depicts a glorified rendition of Napoleon Bonaparte's legendary traversal of the Alps with his army via the Great St. Bernard Pass in May of 1800.
